Crispy Chicken Tenders

For couple of days I have been craving fried food like onion rings, chicken tenders and cheese sticks. The last time I had these items the quantity was so less that I was left craving. So I decided to make some at home.
Here is how I made my chicken tenders. Splatter alert, there would be a lot of splattering while cooking the chicken but the taste is  really worth the post cooking cleaning.
So lets get started.

Ingredients:

  1. Chicken Breast: 1
  2. All Purpose flour: 1 cup
  3. Egg: 1 large
  4. Bread Crumbs: 2 cups
  5. Salt To taste
  6. Red Chilli Powder: 2 tbsp
  7. Oil For deep frying.

Procedure:
Rinse and pat dry the chicken breast.
Lay it on the counter between 2 layers of plastic wrap and gently pound until they are about 1/8 inch thick.
Then cut it into strips of your desired size.
Heat oil in a pot.
In the meanwhile mix the all purpose flour, salt and red chilli powder in a large shallow dish.
In a large shallow dish beat the eggs.
Pour the bread crumbs in another shallow dish.
Working with one piece at a time, coat the chicken on both sides with all pupose flour, dust the extra, deep it in egg , let the excess run off and the dredge both sides with bread crumbs.
Place the chicken on a large baking tray while you finish the rest of the chicken pieces.
Now tha tthe oil is hot but not smoking ,  place as many chicken as you can fit in the pan without overcrowding it.
Fry till golden brown on both sides.
Transfer the chicken to a plate lined with paper towel to drain out excess oil.
Finish rest of the chicken tenders and enjoy with your favorite deep and a glass of lemonade.

This would really make a great appetizer for you upcoming 4th Of July parties.
Make some and enjoy.
Till then Happy Blogging
