Bread Roll

Last week I had been real busy with work, home, house hunting and camping, so could not post anything.
While at camp had a real great time camping with friends. Even though we ate up all the food the we took, a lot of bread was left. So I kept wandering what to do with all that.
Here is my take on bread roll.

Ingredients:
  1. White bread: 6 slices
  2. Potato: 1 medium
  3. Green Peas: 1/4 cup
  4. Onion: 1 small finely chopped
  5. Green chilli: 2 finely chopped
  6. Curry leaves: few
  7. Turmeric Powder: 1tsp
  8. cumin seeds: 1/2 tsp
  9. Asafetida : a pinch
  10. Red Chilli Powder: 2 tsp
  11. Garam Masala: 1 tsp
  12. Chaat Masala: 1 tsp
  13. Oil: 1tbsp
  14. Salt: as per taste
  15. oil for deep frying
Procedure:
Boil, peel and cube the potatoes.
In a pan heat oil add the cumin seeds and asafetida. Once the cumin seeds stop spluttering add the turmeric powder, red chilli powder to the oil and once the raw smell is gone add the curry leaves and green chillies.
Add the chopped onion and a pinch of salt and cook till the onion is translucent.
Add the green peas, cooked potatoes, salt to taste and fry for 4-5 mins till the peas are cooked through.
Add the garam masala and chaat powder to the potatoes, mix well and remove from the heat.
Let the stuffing cool down.
Cut the crust of the bread.
Sprinkle water on the bread, squeeze any excess water.
place 1 tbsp of stuffing diagonally on the bread and fold the corners inside in order to close the roll up and give it a cylindrical shape.
Finish forming all the rolls similarly.
Heat oil for deep frying.

Deep fry the rolls till crispy and golden brown on all sides.
Serve it hot with ketchup, as a snack.

Enjoy this easy tea time snack
Till then happy blogging
